Your mine runs on WhatsApp. Excel. Paper shift sheets.
  • Shift reports arrive a day lateTonnes, loads and delays written on paper at the pit and typed into Excel the next morning, if at all.
  • Breakdowns nobody saw comingServices slip because hour meters live in a notebook, so a truck stops in the middle of a shift.
  • Near misses go unreportedHazards are talked about in the crib room and forgotten, until the same one hurts someone.
  • Licences found expired at auditPermits, licences and returns kept in a folder, with renewals remembered a week too late.

Your site deserves better.

The system

Pit, plant, people and power. One login.

An operations system for mines, quarries, contractors and energy companies. Sixteen modules share one database, so a breakdown logged at the pit takes the truck off dispatch, opens a work order and reserves the spares. It is set up as a demo open-pit mine near Kitale with its own solar mini-grid division. Click around the dashboard below to open each module.

From the pit to the report

From blast plan to month end.

One record follows the ore from the bench to the plant and into the monthly figures, so the pit, the lab, the plant and finance work from the same tonnes.

  1. 01

    Plan and blast

Grade control marks the blocks, and the blast permit, pattern and explosives are recorded.

  2. 02

    Load and haul

Every load counted per truck and loader, with ore and waste sent to the right place.

  3. 03

    Weigh

Weighbridge tickets tie each load to the shift, the truck and the stockpile.

  4. 04

    Process

Plant feed, run hours and recovery logged per shift, with the lab's grades alongside.

  5. 05

    Stay safe and legal

Permits, hazards, dust and water readings checked against limits as the work happens.

  6. 06

    Report

Tonnes, grades, costs and returns for management and the regulator, from the same records.

Portals

Everyone reports from where they stand.

Supervisors and operators work from phones and cab tablets at the pit, contractors see their own people and timesheets, and energy customers top up and check their balance from a phone.

Questions

Before you ask.

What is Pinch for Mining & Energy?

An operations system built by Pinch Africa for mines, quarries, mining contractors and energy companies: production, haulage, equipment, maintenance, safety, permits, the assay lab, stores, contractors, shifts, payroll, environment, community, licences and solar or mini-grid billing in one system.

How long does it take to get our site live?

21 working days, from the first site walk to go-live. Days 1 to 3 we map how you work, days 4 to 15 we build and you test, days 16 to 18 we move your data, and days 19 to 21 we train your teams and switch on.

Does it work at remote sites with poor network?

Yes. The phone and tablet app saves shift reports, checklists, hazards and readings on the device and sends them when signal returns. The office screens need an internet connection, which most sites already have by satellite, fibre or mobile data.

Can it connect to our fleet trackers and weighbridge?

Where your tracker or weighbridge supplier offers an interface, we can build a connection so positions, engine hours and weights come in on their own. Where there is none, the system reads their export files, or operators record loads on the cab tablet.

How does safety reporting work?

Anyone on site reports an incident, near miss or hazard from a phone, with a photo and the location, and can do it anonymously. Serious reports alert the right people at once, and each one is followed through investigation and actions until it is closed.

Can it handle PAYG solar tokens and smart meters?

It keeps your customers, meters, tariffs and payments, and matches M-Pesa payments to the right account. Creating tokens and locking or unlocking devices is a connection we can build where your meter or PAYG supplier offers an interface.

Do we have to replace everything at once?

No. Most sites start with production, maintenance and safety, then add stores, payroll and the rest. Each module works on its own and they all share the same data.

What does it cost?

It depends on the modules, the number of sites and the number of users. After a free scoping call you get a fixed-scope proposal in writing, so you know the price before we start.

Let's map your site.
