Your co-op runs on Collection books. Excel. WhatsApp.
  • Litres go missing on the wayThe centre book says one figure and the plant scale another, and nobody can say where the gap went.
  • Pay day takes a week of ExcelDeliveries, prices and a dozen deductions worked out by hand for thousands of farmers.
  • Farmers doubt the figuresNo receipt and no statement, so every query becomes a trip to the office.
  • Side-selling eats the creditBrokers pay cash at the gate, deliveries drop and input credit goes unrecovered.

Your co-op deserves better.

The system

Farmers, collection and pay. One login.

A management system for dairy and produce co-operatives, outgrower schemes, aggregators and exporters. Sixteen modules share one database, so a delivery weighed at a centre reaches the farmer by SMS, the plant, the buyer's invoice and the month's pay run without being typed twice. Click around: it is set up as a demo dairy and horticulture co-op near Nyeri.

A litre of milk

From the cow to the farmer's phone.

One record follows every delivery from the centre to the buyer's invoice and the farmer's pay, so the clerk, the lab, the driver and the treasurer all work from the same figures.

  1. 01

    Deliver

Weighed at the centre on the collection app, with a receipt and an SMS to the farmer.

  2. 02

    Test

Tested at the platform and in the plant lab, with the grade set from the results.

  3. 03

    Collect and cool

Loaded, sealed and driven to the plant, where the scale checks the centre total.

  4. 04

    Sell

Dispatched to the buyer against the contract and invoiced through eTIMS.

  5. 05

    Pay

Paid at the month's price, less every deduction, by M-Pesa in one approved run.

  6. 06

    Advise

Field officers follow up on rejections and falling deliveries with a farm visit.

Portals

Farmers see their own figures.

Farmers check deliveries, pay, credit and loans on a smartphone, or by USSD and SMS on any phone. Clerks and field officers work from phones at the centres and on the farms, and the board sees the figures that matter before each meeting.

Questions

Before you ask.

What is Pinch for Co-operatives & Agribusiness?

A management system built by Pinch Africa for dairy and produce co-operatives, outgrower schemes, aggregators and exporters: farmer register, collection, quality, farmer payments, input credit, loans, extension, traceability, buyers and finance in one system.

How long does it take to go live?

21 working days, from the first walk-through to go-live. Days 1 to 3 we map how you work, days 4 to 15 we build and you test, days 16 to 18 we move your data, and days 19 to 21 we train your team and switch on, ideally at the start of a pay period.

Some of our centres have poor network. Will collection still work?

Yes. The collection app saves every delivery on the clerk's phone and prints the receipt there, then sends the records when signal returns. The farmer's SMS goes out as soon as the phone syncs.

Most of our farmers do not have smartphones. Can they still use it?

Yes. Every farmer gets an SMS after each delivery and on pay day, and can check deliveries, pay, credit and loan balances through a USSD menu on any phone. The app is there for those who want it.

Can you move our member register and balances from Excel or another system?

Yes. We import members, shares, input credit, loans and advances from spreadsheets or your old system, find duplicates, and check the opening balances with your finance team before go-live.

How are farmers paid?

The pay run works out each farmer's gross from deliveries and grades, takes deductions in the order you set, and needs two officials to approve it. Pay then goes out by M-Pesa bulk payment or as a bank or SACCO file, and each farmer gets a statement.

Does it help with GlobalG.A.P. or buyer audits?

It keeps the records auditors ask for: the grower register, spray records, internal inspections, residue tests and lot traceability, with a recall drill you can run in minutes. Certification itself is still done by your certification body.

What does it cost?

It depends on the modules, the number of centres and farmers, and the number of users. After a free scoping call you get a fixed-scope proposal in writing, so you know the price before we start.

Let's map your co-operative.

A free scoping call, then a fixed-scope proposal in writing.
